About us

Shan ali

speaks English, Urdu, Hindi

He is the chemist who turned into permaculture, and he has a law degree from Nottingham Law School—because why stop at just one passion? After a decade-plus career crafting perfumes for dogs, whipping up sweets for kids, and adding flavor to the synthetic food industry, Shan Ali realized he needed a different kind of chemical reaction in his life.

Entering permaculture was a decision that had him ditching the rainy English weather for the sunny vibes of Zanzibar. Now, instead of concocting scents and flavors in a lab, he is on a regerative journey with his family of four, growing his own food on Ali's Acre.

You can catch all the green-thumb action and maybe a few laughs on his YouTube channel, where the man who once mixed chemicals now mixes soil to create a symphony of sustainable living.

Yanis

speaks English, Swahili, German, French

When the former Mathlete moved to Zanzibar in 2020, he volunteered for various organizations whilst earning his living in teaching Swahili to foreigners in his CrashCourses.

After he obtained his Residency Permit through his own company, and doing about every possible mistake along the way, he wants to share his knowledge with others.

However, his main passion will remain camps. During the last decade, he participated in more than 50 camps across four continents, and he loves to organize them everywhere.
